The United Church of Chester prides itself as “The Church that Serves.” The Home Tour is a major fundraise that helps underwrite such programs as charity outreach services and church education services. The proceeds from the 2018 Tour will benefit the UCC and the Chester Fuel Assistance Bank. The support of local firms and businesses assists us in our mission. We look forward to your participation and support!

United Church of Chester

"No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here at the United Church of Chester, an Open and Affirming Church, and a member of the United Church of Christ."

We are a congregation with an over-266-year history of loving, caring, sharing and serving in Chester, CT and beyond. We hold it to be the mission of the Church that: "Relying on the Holy Spirit to lead us and empower us, we worship God, and witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ with loving service and commitment to justice and peace." Each member shall have the undisturbed right to follow the Word of God according to the dictates of his or her own conscience, under the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit.

The United Church of Chester was formed in 1941 by the uniting of two Chester congregations, the Congregational Church (founded in 1740) and the Baptist Church (founded in 1822). In 1948, the two separate sanctuaries were physically joined together to complete the uniting process.

We are a diverse Protestant denomination and are a member of the United Church of Christ, a community of faith that seeks to respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed.

We are an Open and Affirming Church so we welcome all seekers to journey with us.

All are welcome here!
