Simon’s Says ~ from Alan

I’m not much of a golfer, but that doesn’t mean I don’t know my way around the links.  😉

A number of you have been asking how we can do something to aid the victims of Australia’s horrific wildfires.  Earlier this week The New York Times published a list of organizations engaged in relief efforts; you can find them here:

With Advent and Christmas now in the rear-view mirror, we have finished reading our way through the UCC’s Advent devotional, but we can continue to fill our spirits with the wisdom of the Still-Speaking Writer’s Group.  Some of you already subscribe to the Daily Devotional, but if you don’t, and you’d like to wake up each morning to some enlightening/challenging/bemusing (choose one or more) Spirit-filled writing, follow this link to sign up:

At our most recent gathering of the Valley Shore Clergy Association, my friend and colleague Rabbi Marci Bellows spoke about the deep pain and worry among the Jewish community surrounding the increase of anti-Semitic violence and other expressions of animosity against our sister and brother children of Abraham.  Earlier this week she posted this thoughtful speech given by Bari Weiss at last week’s No Hate, No Fear Solidarity March in New York City:

Finally, if you aren’t yet tired of reading your minister’s musings and want to revisit a past sermon, or catch up on one or two you may have missed, remember we have them archived on our web site:
