Simon’s Says
Next Sunday May 21 is the United Church’s Annual Congregational Meeting, and I hope you will be in attendance. The church office is in the process of preparing the 2023 Annual Report, and Sally let me have a sneak peek at it yesterday. I am particularly pleased with the report of the Nominating Committee (thank you, Deb Calamari), and to all of you who have agreed to serve the church in some capacity in the coming year(s). As Diane Lindsay reminded us a couple weeks ago, it takes all of us to make a church. Whether you are a member of a board or committee, or a church officer, or someone who says Yes when asked to undertake a task or project, it is you who keep our mission and ministry vital and moving forward. As we continue to find our way into a post-pandemic time, we are seeing more and more folks return to the pews (and are welcoming a number of new faces as well), which makes it all the more important to maintain and enhance the church’s work. So thank you, one and all. And do remember to take a copy of the Annual Report after worship this Sunday.
