Simon's Says
Last week's Annual Meeting was so efficient that we didn't have the opportunity to thank and welcome both oncoming and offgoing members of our boards, committees and officers; here is what our chief nominator and incoming clerk Deb Calamari would like to say to the congregation:
As I’ve said many times before, “it takes a village” to keep a church running and this past year and upcoming year are no exceptions. I would like to thank the following people who have either served on a board or committee and are coming off it or are taking a “leap of faith” to participate on a board or committee.
- Church Clerk: Liz Luther is stepping down and Deb Calamari is going on.
- Treasurer: Bob Luther has agreed to serve temporarily until we find a replacement. The Treasurer’s Job Description is currently being reviewed to see what responsibilities can be given to the Board of Trustees or simply be omitted.
- Board of Trustees: Keith Howley and Doreen Schwab are stepping down and Lynette Bester, Terry Schreiber and Skip Weisenburger are going on.
- Board of Christian Education: We are continuing not to fill these positions due to the lack of children enrollment.
- Outreach Committee: Judy Stevenson is stepping down and Debbie Froggatt is going on.
- Church Delegates: Susie Webb is stepping down for this year but plans on returning next year. Ed Sypher is continuing as a Delegate.
- Historians: Deb Calamari is stepping down. Diane Lindsay is continuing as an Historian.
- Hospitality Committee: Deb Calamari is going on.
Everyone else who has been serving has agreed to continue with their respective committees.
I want to thank everyone for “answering the call,” whether in person, by phone or email. Your participation is invaluable to the continuation and success of our church, which serves our community in so many positive ways.
Sincerely,
Deb Germini Calamari

This Sunday we will be looking at Pentecost and the formation of the church; my sermon title will be "Busy Being Born" - extra points if you can tell me from whom I purloined the phrase (no Googling allowed). Here's a hint: the author celebrated a birthday this week!
