The Virtual Villager Voice ~ from Alan
Not sure what I’m going to call this two weeks from now while the Villager is temporarily closed…
Since this new way of being church began three weeks ago I’ve said repeatedly that we have to be willing try things and fail rather than not try them at all; so it is that this morning’s Virtual Coffice Hours were pretty lonely, since none of you were able to join. We’ll get it figured out for the next go-round.
But we can celebrate that our Sunday morning worship seems to be working., and working well. Here is some of the data we’ve garnered from the first two services:
On Sunday March 22, we reached 243 people and the service was viewed 383 times. This is a little curious: does it mean that 140 of you viewed it twice? Or more sobering, that one of you watched it 141 times? Clearly I’m still learning how to read the data.
On Sunday March 29, we reached 234 people (very close to the prior week) and it was viewed a much more reasonable 250 times. That’s a bit more like it. Plus as a result of our online worship, 27 more people started following the United Church of Chester’s Facebook page. Yes, this makes us disciples.
A few reminders for this Palm Sunday. Remember to put some green on your door, take a photo and either post it on our church Facebook page, or send it to me (w.alan.froggatt@uccchester.org) and I’ll post it. Early next week we will be sending out details of our Holy Week services; we will offer services for Maundy Thursday at 7pm, Good Friday at 12 Noon, and Easter Day at 10am. Who knows, perhaps there will even be a sunrise service…
Meanwhile, remember, you don’t need a computer to join Jesus in the Upper Zoom, just a prayerful heart.
