Rumor has it that some of you have been coming to church each week solely to hear the next chapter of the long-running saga of the missing offering envelopes. They did not show up at their customary time at mid-December, and multiple inquiries went unanswered. Finally, around the middle of January, we learned that the company that produced them was no longer in business and didn’t bother notifying anyone (the good news is we hadn’t yet paid for them). Multiple phone calls later, we found another company that could print them with dispatch, even though they were getting calls from who knows how many churches in the same boat as we. Well, the final chapter has been written: the envelopes arrived early this week, and are ready for pick-up this Sunday. We appreciate your patience.
In response to suggestions some of you have made, we are going to produce a version of the Sunday bulletin in large print. The format will change a bit to make it easier to follow, and it will be in addition to, not instead of, our usual Sunday bulletin. It may take a bit of time to work out any bugs, so to that end we will be asking some of you to “test drive” it for us, in order to gain some input and feedback. If asked, we hope you’ll agree.
Finally, remember tomorrow (Saturday March 11) we will celebrate the life of Margaret Weisenburger here at the church at 11:00 am. We expect a crowd, so you may want to arrive on the early side. A reception will follow in our Fellowship Hall. A reminder to “Spring Ahead” as we return to Daylight Savings Time this Sunday and move our clocks forward one hour.
