Simon’s Says
“Behold, I make all things new!” At the United Church of Chester, the newest is our church web page. Through late summer and early fall Parish Administrator Sally Marston has been working with a new vendor – the previous web page no longer supported updates – and has undergone training to maintain the new program. It is much less static than our old page, it is eye-catching and easily navigated. We have uploaded a number of new photos, kept some of the older ones, and provide a lot more information than we had been able to before. I invite you to check it out at your leisure, the address is same as it ever was, https://uccchester.org/
’Tis the Season, and life is getting busier at the UCC. Preparations are underway for our annual Christmas Fair, Saturday December 7, the date for multiple church holiday fairs around the region. We are grateful to all our busy bees working behind the scenes to make this a successful effort. Check the latest Uniter for ways you can help out.
I enjoyed a meaningful and well-attended observance of Veteran’s Day on Monday. It was a glorious morning, lots of children from Chester Elementary School were in attendance, and multiple members of the community participated. It typically attracts less of a crowd than Memorial Day, most likely because the ‘parade,’ if you want to call it that, is a short one – we walk the 150 yards from North Quarter Park to the Memorial – but the remembrances are powerful, and the attendees appreciative. I’m grateful for the opportunity to participate each year.
I have one more piece of wonderful news to share with you all – which I will do at Sunday’s Annual Budget Meeting immediately following worship. See you there!
