Wow. What a great day last Saturday was at our annual Christmas Fair. You all outdid yourselves from start to finish, the crowds were steady through the day, and there was a lot of genial energy flowing through the room, the kind of warm hospitality that fits the season. For me, the highlight is always the opportunity to welcome neighbors into our building. And thanks to your generosity of time, contributions and support, we netted north of $9000. Abundant thanks to Judy Schondorf and Brenda Johnson for your commitment and keeping us all organized.
In a similar spirit, tomorrow is our Stuff-a-Cruiser event, be sure to stop by the church to contribute toys for young people in our area; again it is a wonderful leadership opportunity for us to bring our community together to make a difference this Christmas season.
With Sunday morning’s forecast in mind, let me remind you that we continue to broadcast our Sunday services, and if you don’t feel safe coming out, please join us from home; the bulletin is always appended to this mailing to assist your worship.
Finally, knowing the many ways music adds to the festiveness of the season, I invite you to a Holiday Concert performed by the Southeast Connecticut Community Orchestra of which I am a part, tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at East Lyme High School starting at 3:00; I’d love to see you there. As well, don’t miss next Sunday’s Christmas Cantata offered by our choir and music director Karli Gilbertson. You’ll read more about it in the week to come.
