Simon’s Says
We rolled the dice last Sunday, and won. But this Sunday, to mindfully mix metaphors, you gotta know when to hold ’em and know when to fold ’em. Last week we believed the expected snow would fall lightly in the morning and wait until afternoon to make an impact. While this Sunday’s forecast looks similar, we aren’t going to take a chance: worship this Sunday (January 25) will be remote-only, meaning you can find it on the UCC’s Facebook page (link, as always below). Because it’s been a few years since we’ve done this, here is a reminder how it works. At 10:00 am Sunday morning, we will go live. Karli will begin with some music to set the tone for church, and when she is done, we’ll switch to my offering some scripture and reflection. You will need to refresh your browser (or re-click the link in this email) at the hand-off – when Karli’s piece ends, the broadcast will stop for about 30 to 60 seconds, and then you’ll be able to click in again. And since we have not done this for a while, please allow some grace time for the two of us to make this work smoothly.
Please email me (w.alan.froggatt@uccchester.org) any announcements or prayer requests you would like included Sunday. And while I know how much you all enjoyed when I led worship from my back yard, I’m no Jim Cantore, so church that morning will come from the comfort of my dining room in Old Lyme..
