WFH

(Working from home this morning because I lost a day off twice in the past two weeks…)

We’re in for a treat this Sunday morning during worship.  It is Katie Wilcox Day at the United Church, and our own Diane Adams will be sharing her experiences with us from her trip to Lady Doak College in India earlier this year.  Diane spent two weeks with students, faculty and staff from the college, and learned firsthand the legacy of Lady Doak’s founder, Katie Wilcox, who was a member of the United Church and heard the call to mission here more than sixty years ago.  We are so grateful that Daine was willing to make the long journey from Chester to Madurai and look forward to hearing about her time there.  (Rumor has it that there may also be some Indian treats at coffee hour.)  We will also have the opportunity to make a contribution of support to Lady Doak; you’ll definitely want to be there Sunday.

Sunday is also the fifth Sunday of the month, when we typically hold our sermon talk-backs after church, but a scheduling conflict has pushed it out one week; join us next Sunday June 7 for study and conversation after the service.  And then on June 14, we will honor and thank our choir and Music Director on Music Appreciation Sunday.  Music is such a special part of our weekly worship, and we appreciate and value the gifts of all who contribute.
