The Villager Voice
This Sunday we are very excited about welcoming folks from the wider Lady Doak College community as our guests in worship. Dr. Roopa Ravikumar, Director of the Lady Doak College Foundation, Sharon Rajadurai, Executive Director of the Foundation, and Mary Caroline Carmichael, a member of the Board of Directors, will be with us to share some of the work that is being done at the college. It will be a great chance for us to learn more about the college that was founded by our church’s own Katie Wilcox, and to get to know three folks who are integral to the school’s support and development. Additionally, we will have the opportunity to extend our own support of Lady Doak, look for special offering envelopes in your bulletin Sunday. And attached to this message is a short video to offer a taste of what life is like at Lady Doak; take a look at it, and join us Sunday to welcome our friends.

Two weeks from Sunday will see me in a different pulpit. It will be our annual Middlesex Association Pulpit Swap, and on Oct 12 I will be leading worship with the good people at South Congregational Church, UCC, in Middletown. Meanwhile, South Church’s pastor, The Rev. Dr. Kristen Provost Switzer will lead worship here at our United Church. A native of Newtown, CT, Kristen has served churches in Hamden, Prospect and Newtown before coming to Middletown. I’m excited for all of you to meet her, and for her to meet all of you.
