The Villager Voice

The Fundy Finder is what we called the student directory at Princeton Seminary.  It contained a photo, name, address, phone, and former college for each of us.  Every now and then, when I read about an erstwhile classmate, I pull one out (I have 4, one for each year at PTS) to remind myself who she or he is and what they looked like forty years ago.

I had cause to consult the Fundy Finder earlier this week when I came across a podcast that featured a Connecticut colleague of mine, The Rev. Dr. Rochelle Stackhouse.  Shelly is currently serving as Transitional Interim Minister at Buckingham Congregational Church in East Glastonbury.  (It’s worth noting that, since Princeton is a Presbyterian seminary, there aren’t a lot of us UCC PTS alums.). Prior to moving to Buckingham she served at Center Church in Hartford and spent 11 years at Church of the Redeemer in New Haven.  Her podcast offered some wonderfully refreshing ideas about Jesus, the clergy and the contemporary church,  some of which I’ll be sharing with you Sunday.

And it looks as though I will be sharing them from the comfort of my home.  We’ve made the decision to hold worship exclusively online due to the approaching snow storm this weekend.  So let’s linger over that extra cup of coffee or tea, throw on a comfortable bathrobe and slippers, leave the shoveling for later, and let’s talk about Jesus.
