The Villager Voice ~ from Alan
I’ve been kind of wordy lately, so this morning’s note consists of a handful of brief reminders.
Remember tonight’s Shabbat Service of Solidarity at Congregation Beth Shalom Rodfe Zedek. It starts at 7:30, and is an opportunity for our community to stand together with our Jewish sisters and brothers in the wake of last weekend’s horrific shootings at a Pittsburgh synagogue.
Remember that we are accepting contributions for Lady Doak College in anticipation of Dr Christianna Singh’s visit on Sunday November 18. We would like to present her with a monetary gift in our continuing support for all the good work the college does.
Remember to set your clocks back an hour tomorrow night. While you are always welcome to spend a quiet hour of contemplation in the sanctuary before church, you may decide another cup of coffee or tea (or an extra hour’s sleep) is almost as important.
Remember that you too are a beloved child of God.
